Frank van der Wal graduated from Computer Sciences at the PolyTechnical in Amsterdam in 1989 followed by a Technical Business Administration course at the same institute a year later. After an international experience in the financial sector he joined IBM in 1991 at the European Repair Centre as repair engineer for PS/2 products. In 1994 he joined IBM’s Logistics department, implementing a pan-European system to control all of IBM’s spare parts in Spain and Israel.

Since 1998 he is working in the Sales and Distribution department of IBM working both for the PC division as the Server division as Brand Manager for different IBM products.
Early 2004 he dedicated his time to the translation of IBM’s Business strategy into the products and services IBM has to offer. In this role Frank is a consulting on items as Virtualization and Service Orientation. As of the beginning of this year Frank is named Client It Architect and concentrates on Service Orientation, Virtualization and Innovation with the SMB market segment.

In his spare time Frank is an amateur astronomer and works on his historical house, but seldom simultaneously….
