In June 2005 Sun Microsystems open sourced the Solaris Operating System,
releasing the code through the OpenSolaris community. Since then,
16,000 people have joined the community and 38 user groups have been
formed around the world from Silicon Valley to Sydney, from Mumbai to
Moscow.
Now, The Netherlands takes its turn.
On Thursday 26th October the Dutch OpenSolaris User Group will hold its
inaugural meeting at Sun's Saturnus building in Amersfoort. Solaris users,
enthusiasts, experts, novices are all welcome.
We will start at 19:30, agenda as follows:

| |
Bart Muijzer, local NLOSUG host, will introduce the NLOSUG, share some ideas,
and try to get discussions going.
Casper Dik, resident guru, and OpenSolaris Community Advisory Board
(CAB) member, will introduce OpenSolaris and be on hand for questions.
Darren Moffat, guest guru, will speak on OpenSolaris development in
general and one project in particular: encryption for ZFS.
Remco Fugers will introduce the Open Solaris Starter Kit.
|

We will conduct a small install fest (systems welcome - check the HCL for guidance!), and of course have food
and drinks on hand. Everyone attending will get a tshirt and a starter
kit.
We plan to end around 22:00 with drinks at the SUN bar.
